ADHD, Autism and Behavioural Concerns

Supporting your child with ADHD, Autism or Behavioural Concerns
If you’re worried about your child’s attention, behaviour, learning or development, you’re not alone. You might be wondering whether it could be ADHD, autism, or something else entirely. At Just Kids Health, we’re here to help you make sense of what’s going on step by step.
Step 1: Getting to know your child
Every child is different. We take the time to listen and understand what’s happening for your child and your family.
We look at:
-
Development and behaviour
-
Learning, attention and social skills
-
Strengths, challenges and daily life
Step 2: Understanding what’s going on
We take the time to understand your child across different settings — including home, early learning and school — and use trusted assessment tools and clinical experience to guide our assessment. We explain everything clearly, so you feel informed and confident — not confused.
Step 3: Linking you with the right specialist
If Autism or ADHD is likely, we work alongside paediatricians, psychologists and other professionals as part of a team approach to support diagnosis. We stay involved throughout the process, helping you understand each step and what it means for your child so you’re not left to figure it out alone.
We’ll support you to understand:
-
What happens next
-
Your options
-
How to move forward
Step 4: Ongoing support for your family
If your child is diagnosed with Autism or ADHD, we continue to support you with care that fits your child and your family.
This can include:
-
Working with your child’s specialist to support medication (if needed)
-
Practical strategies for home and school
-
Support with behaviour, routines, and emotions
-
Help connecting with services like psychology, education, early intervention, school planning and other supports
-
Accessing the NDIS
If you prefer not to use medication, we can support you with practical strategies and help you find the right services.
